My wee gal loves jewelry. She loves to make bracelets and necklaces with beads (yes one of the many summer crafts we are already seriously working on day one of this whole school’s-out thing). We have even begun using sculpey to create pendants and beads to string on bracelets and necklaces later. When it comes to making and wearing jewelry at an almost-five-year-old level, we aren’t messing around.
My wee gal loves to dress up. She loves nail polish and lip gloss (she got it as a party favor…what could I do?) and flowery headbands and sandals that show her toes. She loves to express herself.
So we’re all about the products that allow her to do this.
I first saw Mungi Bands magnetic bracelets at the New York Toy Fair this past winter and I fell in love with them. Mungi Bands are magnetically connectable silicone bracelets you can mix and match in infinite combinations. Trade them with your friends. Exchange segments as mix and match friendship bracelets. No tiny pieces required. Two segments make a bracelet. Or string a bunch together for a necklace.
And the patterns are great for allowing your gal to be herself. Choose a set including ballet slippers, cupcakes and flowers OR butterflies, surfboards and “BFF” OR, for the boys and tomboys sharks, surfboards and the jolly roger…or get all three and make an awesome shark-cupcake-butterfly combo. Yes, cool bracelets for boys! And Mungi Bands are super cool.
Mungi Bands sets come in two sizes, small and large, and are designed for kids ages five and up.
They are available on the Mungi website for $6.99 a set (order four or more and get free shipping) or get them on Amazon if that’s the way you roll. A couple of sets make an awesome 5th birthday present for your fashionista.
A gal who knows her own mind. That’s something Mama’s definitely gotta have.
